As an industry leading provider of progressive die stamped products, LIKE MACHINERY Company has the capabilities to stamp complex tight tolerance components, quickly and economically. This front boom mounting bracket, manufactured for a repeat customer in the audio/visual industry, fully utilized these capabilities.
At LIKE MACHINERY we specialize in providing innovative solutions that deliver efficient, cost-effective, progressive die stamped products for our customers.
Steel Frame
The part highlighted here is part of a 10 component assembly used in a mobile computer cart; due to their complex geometries, we performed a Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to ensure structural integrity. Metal Furniture Deep Drawing Cabinet Legs
Whether you are seeking simple or complex metal stampings and tools, we combine our years of design and precision metal stamping experience to meet low or high volume production requirements. Progressive Die Stamping Steel Boom Bracket
The use of FEA software allowed us to maximize the effectiveness of our die stamping process and to ensure that we could achieve the difficult radii required. The FEA simulation indicated that the initial design would have resulted in severe cracks in two locations, which would have required major tooling overhaul with extensive production delays and cost overruns. Thanks to Manor’s engineering and finite element analysis data ability, we were able to develop a process that required only a single press hit within a progressive die to form the contour — decreasing cost, saving time, and delivering problem-free production. Steel Deep Drawn Terminal Box
The frame section is composed of pre-coated cold rolled steel and featured dimensions of 22.5″ in length, 4″ in width, and 2.8″ in height. Stamping was performed on our 400-ton press which allowed us to maintain tolerances of ±.005″, vital to the structural integrity of the entire 10 piece frame assembly. In addition, the customer specified that critical dimensions be monitored and maintained throughout production, this was fulfilled through dimensional and visual inspections. Our in-house stamping capabilities have resulted in a long-term relationship with this customer. We currently manufacture 50,000 of these components annually, with lead times of 3 to 4 weeks.
